It is a paradox that we should discuss the social and economic influence independent professionals might have on our global economy. These professionals generally operate fairly small businesses. What could be their influence on world affairs?

For centuries, law and accounting professionals have provided services to businesses, particularly large groups. Their interface with medium size and small businesses is less systematic, not to say insufficient. They also work for individual clients.

These professionals have a significant influence on legal, economic, and financial reforms. To keep pace with globalization, they build networks of trusted colleagues to exchange best practices and information on a regular basis. It would be sad to limit these networking opportunities to occasional meetings where professionals gather in fancy resorts. Information is disseminated not only during conventions, but also through new information tools such as email and electronic newsletters.

Members of these trusted networks are recognized by their peers as real professionals, which inspires confidence and facilitates sponsorships and the exchange of reliable information.

GRIP 21 promotes the flow of information among these confidence-based organizations.
